Simplicity is true elegance.

I am a woman of simple taste and that goes for many things in my life. Perhaps in the past I would have been considered something of a phenomenon because my thoughts and values were quite ahead of my time and I spent the most part of my becoming story feeling misunderstood. But every genius was once misunderstood and mistaken for a madman.

So let's get straight into it. Oh how I love to eat, how I love food. I always have an appetite for eating. My taste palette is quite international and I like to try everything under the rainbow of cuisines and having grown up in Canada, the versatile options were readily available to me. But of course we each have our few favorites that we stick to and here are mine:

Lebanese Food

Yummy. Yummy. Yummy. So fresh and light and delicious. I never really expected to fall in love with Lebanese food like this but I enjoy very much food that is light and fresh and breezy. Although, growing up in Canada I had an especially difficult relationship with Lebanese people but my opinion completely changed after a trip to Beirut in 2017 and especially interacting with the Christian Lebanese community. Such class and elegance!

Yum Yum

Sushi

I discovered sushi also back in Calgary, the original hood. At first I was wary about eating raw fish because that sounded super gross but damn, what a delight! Especially the salmon, I can never get enough of it. Sushi is an art and admittedly, I haven't tasted the especially exquisite sushi from experienced Japanese chefs in Tokyo but it is my goal to go there and indulge in as much sushi as possible. The Japanese are very proper and that shows in their food as well.

wow wow wow

Italian Food

So simple and carby yet the taste is so rich. Rich in heart and soul. I love the pastas, thin crust pizzas, and the desserts!!!! Damnnnn. What's not to love about italian food. Personally, I love the seafood pasta and spaghetti alla vongole... I think I spelt it right. I love the passion that the Italians have for things like food and life. I mean out of all the Europeans they are probably some of the kindest people, maybe because their blood is more warm and close to the Arab Peoples. Here is my favorite Italian pizza:

Diavola like Diablo

Steak

This is the Canadian in me. The girl from Alberta. This is an ode to Alberta beef. The best beef in the world. Although it is still quite unknown in comparison to the fame that the Japanese wagyu has or the Argentina steak. Alberta beef still deserves some major respect. If any man wants to take me out on a date and want to show me that he is treating me right, then take me out for steak. Anything else doesn't mean anything to me. I love New York steak and Filet mignon in medium rare.

So mouth watering!

Iranian Kebab

This my favorite kebab. For me, it is just perfect. The way it is presented is so proper with those perfect ripples on the kebab skewer and the amount of fat mixed in is perfect. I also prefer to eat kebab with rice because in Iraq the kebab is more fatty and is eaten with bread. Iranian kebab is the OG of kebabs in my opinion and even their joujeh (chicken) is so damn good! Thank you to our Iranian friends for getting it on point.

Perfection.

And there you have it my friends. These are my favorite dishes and are usually my go to dishes, especially ones that I order to my home a lot with the exception of steak because it is not something to order but something to treat yourself to for a special night out. Maybe you are wondering why as an Iraqi I haven't mentioned Iraqi food. To be honest with you, Iraqi food is the most exquisite and richest cuisine in the world but it is not something I indulge in often because it is quite heavy. But I plan to dedicate another post especially to Iraqi food.
